But the supernatural elements of this story may be quite appealing to fans of Eric Kripke's show, and the promise of Easter eggs hidden within the walls of the film is likely irresistible to Supernatural fans. Some people even got this movie mixed up with Hotel Artemis. I'm not sure what the awareness level and fandom is for these books.

I'm guessing with 13 seasons of Sam and Dean material to mine from (although Eric Kripke was only showrunner for the first five seasons) these Easter eggs could range from obvious to super deep cuts. On Twitter, Eric Kripke even calls it the origin story, so chances are if you like Supernatural, you might find something to like in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Not only will The House with a Clock in Its Walls have a lot of Supernatural Easter eggs, but the children's novel upon which it was based actually provided the inspiration for the show in the first place.
